Shimmering with understated luminescence, the Silver Willow ensemble embodies modern regal restraint. Woven from whisper-light Kota tissue in an ethereal mist-grey, the sheer grid is illuminated by fine metallic gold zari threads. Tracing the split neckline and bodice, delicate vine motifs are brought to life through Aligarh’s signature applique craft, rendered in subtle metallic sage-green and framed by fine contour needlework.
Presented as an unstitched two-piece textile cut—comprising generous fabric for a custom-tailored tunic and a diaphanous coordinating tissue scarf adorned with fine zari accents—this piece catches the light with quiet sophistication, making it an exquisite choice for evening cocktails, reception celebrations, and candlelit festivities.
Craftsmanship & Technique
- The Technique: Aligarh’s intricate hand applique and fine cordwork. Miniature metallic sage fabric leaves are cut, folded, and stitched by hand, creating subtle relief along the neckline and yoke.
- Textile Art: Kota tissue grid weave interwoven with delicate metallic gold zari checks, creating a multi-dimensional, luminous sheen.
- Color Palette: Mist Grey and Soft Silver base, illuminated by Pale Gold Zari and muted Metallic Sage Green floral-vine accents.
-
Ensemble Inclusions:
- 1 x Unstitched Tunic Fabric (~2.5 m / 2.73 yd)
- 1 x Coordinating Draped Tissue Scarf / Dupatta with zari border accents (~2.4 m / 2.62 yd)
- Base Fabric: Premium Kota tissue cotton-silk blend—structured yet featherlight, with an elegant translucent fall.
The Bespoke Atelier Fit
Offered in an unstitched format to provide complete tailoring freedom. Ideal for a structured longline tunic, an understated A-line silhouette, or a modern split-hem cut up to US 18 / UK 22 / 3XL.
Artisan Signature & Care
Each leaf and contour is hand-secured by master artisans. Nuances in the metallic weave and applique tension reflect authentic, slow-crafted textile luxury.
Care Ritual: Professional dry clean only to preserve the delicate tissue structure, metallic zari yarns, and dimensional applique motifs. Warm iron on reverse using a low heat setting and a protective press cloth; do not spray water directly onto tissue fabric.
The making
The making
Embroidered by hand in Lucknow. A single piece passes through several pairs of hands — one to block the pattern, one for the shadow work, one for the knots, one to open the jali, and one to wash the printed guidelines away.
Because each piece is made individually, small variations in the stitch are expected. They are the record of the hand that made it, not a defect.
Care
Care
Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or bleach. Dry in shade, never in direct sun — it fades natural dye and yellows white thread. Press on the reverse with a warm iron so the embroidery keeps its relief.
