Shimmering with majestic warmth, the Gilded Marigold ensemble celebrates linear symmetry and luminous craftsmanship. Tailored from a sheer, lustrous tissue-cotton base in deep royal gold, this piece features structured vertical floral panneling (traditional phool patti appliqué). Cascades of crisp porcelain-white florets and soft blush-peach leaf accents trail along the slit neckline and yoke, perfectly echoed across the side panel border of the draped scarf.
Offered as an unstitched two-piece textile cut—comprising generous fabric for a custom-tailored tunic and an ethereal coordinating scarf featuring vertical vine borders—this creation balances subtle metallic radiance with tactile needlecraft, making it a natural centerpiece for festive galas, sunset celebrations, and intimate wedding receptions.
Craftsmanship & Technique
- The Craft: Master Aligarh cutwork and petal applique (phool patti needlecraft). Each miniature blossom and petal is hand-folded, gathered, and hand-stitched into structured linear vines that elongate and flatter the silhouette.
- Color Palette: Deep Royal Gold / Warm Amber base with a fine translucent sheen, illuminated by Crisp White floral relief and soft Peach-Rose leaf contours.
-
Ensemble Inclusions:
- 1 x Unstitched Tunic Fabric (~2.5 m / 2.73 yd)
- 1 x Coordinating Draped Scarf / Dupatta with matching vertical panel borders (~2.4 m / 2.62 yd)
- Base Fabric: Fine tissue-cotton blend with an organic metallic sheen—lightweight, fluid, and structured with a graceful drape.
The Bespoke Atelier Fit
Delivered unstitched to give you complete tailoring freedom. The vertical panel alignment naturally lends itself to sleek straight-cut tunics, elongated A-line styles, or contemporary regal silhouettes up to US 18 / UK 22 / 3XL.
Artisan Signature & Care
Each leaf contour and floret is placed by hand by women master artisans. Nuances in motif spacing and stitch relief reflect authentic, slow-crafted luxury.
Care Ritual: Professional dry clean recommended to preserve the metallic fabric lustre and dimensional hand-appliqué blossoms. Alternatively, hand wash gently in chilled water with mild liquid silk detergent; do not wring. Lay flat to dry in shade; warm iron on the reverse side using a protective cloth.
The making
The making
Embroidered by hand in Lucknow. A single piece passes through several pairs of hands — one to block the pattern, one for the shadow work, one for the knots, one to open the jali, and one to wash the printed guidelines away.
Because each piece is made individually, small variations in the stitch are expected. They are the record of the hand that made it, not a defect.
Care
Care
Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or bleach. Dry in shade, never in direct sun — it fades natural dye and yellows white thread. Press on the reverse with a warm iron so the embroidery keeps its relief.
