Worked by hand on an adda frame in Lucknow. A single piece passes through several pairs of hands — one to block the pattern, one for the shadow work, one for the knots, one to open the jali, and one to wash the printed guidelines away.

Because each piece is made individually, small variations in the stitch are expected. They are the record of the hand that made it, not a defect.

Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or bleach. Dry in shade, never in direct sun — it fades natural dye and yellows white thread. Press on the reverse with a warm iron so the embroidery keeps its relief.
